Horses

Tumbleweed

Tumbleweed

18 year old pinto gelding

He is 99% retired these days. Tumbleweed used to be my lead horse back in the days of working as a Wrangler . I fell in love with him back then so I paid the boss and took him home.

Stormy

Stormy

6 year old Standardbred x Paint gelding

He was my first foal. His mom now lives just down the road. Stormy is a real sweetheart... like a donkey.

Flash

Flash Storm Special

10 year old QH mare

Flash is a quiet trail horse and has great Western Pleasure show potential. She is the horse kept for company to ride. We are considering trading her for a mammoth donkey or mule if you are interested in a dead broke child safe horse let us know.

Aris

Aris

6 year old Tennessee Walking Horse mare

Aris is Brad's trail mount. She is also a very good trail horse and the boss mare in the field.

Goats
Ruby

Ruby

16 year old Nubian doe

Ruby came from Tara's mom's farm. She was one of the first goats born at Silver Heights Farm, and now enjoys her retirement here.

Lucky

Lucky

8 year old Nubian x Boer wether

Lucky is Ruby's son and Boo's twin brother. He is named Lucky because most buck kids landed on someone's dinner plate, but since I was goat-sitting Ruby when she had him he got to be a pet.

Peek-A-Boo

Peek-A-Boo

8 year old Nubian x Boer doe

Boo is Ruby's daughter and Lucky's twin sister. I was so excited when she was born because I just love black goats. Boo lost her last kids due to birthing complications several years ago and will not be re-bred.

BK

BK

14 year old Boer doe

BK stands for Black Knees. She came from Tara's mom's farm with Ruby and Sophie. She had problems concieving throughout her life but always really wanted a baby of her own. BK was so delighted when she was able to have Sophie. She now enjoys her retirement here.

Sophie

Sophie

5 year old Boer cross doe

Sophie is BK's miracle child. She still follows mom everywhere she goes. She is a maiden doe and will proably stay that way.

More Donkeys
Luigi

Luigi

10 year old 34.5" gray NLP unregistered gelding

Luigi was our first donkey. He was a rescue. Apparently the people that originally had him were going to shoot him because he kept attacking them. He is still very grouchy, but also very affectionate. He just loves petting and toys. Luigi was a bottle baby and does not believe he is a donkey. Just ask him and he will happily tell you just how human he really is. He is the talker around the farm. Hee Haw!

Dogs

Evrei

5 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Okay, so we do mean things to our dogs like make them wear silly Christmas gear. He enjoys the good life on the farm.

Tripod

Tripod

13 year old ? three legged Australian Cattle Dog

Tripod adopted us this past fall after following us home on a trail ride last summer. He kept coming back. Eventually, we told his owners they didn't have to come get him anymore if they didn't want to...they didn't.

Rufus

(aka Scooter)

8 month old mystery mix

Rufus is our foster dog from Angels of Assisi. He is super sweet and pretty laid back for a pup. He gets along great with dogs, cats, and livestock. He also does not run off when off leash. A great all around dog who is still looking for his forever home. To adopt him contact Angels of Assisi in Roanoke, VA or you can contact us and we will help you..

Cats
Fuzz

Fuzz

8 year old Medium Hair

Fuzz was sadly lost to a dog in October 2008. He is dearly missed.

Samantha

Samantha

10 year old Seal Point Tabby

Samantha came from the SPCA as a flea infested kitten. The first day I had her I opened a can of food and she came ripping across the floor, leaped onto me, and climbed to my shoulders. I guess she was excited. She is the elusive kitty.

Toey

Toeser

6 year old Polydactyl

Toeser was a Kittus kitten and adopted with her. Toeser has lots of extra toes on all of his feet...even more than most polydactyls. I have been told this is good luck.

Slick

Slick

6 year old Tabby

Slick is Toeser's brother. He is named Slick because at 3 weeks of age he fell into a 5 gal bucket of used motor oil (it wasn't ours). After 5 hours of cleaning he started to look like a kitten again. He has chosen to be the official barn cat because he doesn't like the dogs.

Picture coming soon

Kittus

7 year old Calico

Kittus was a drop off at the dairy farm I used to live next to in NY. She had 3 kittens on my porch just 3 weeks before I was to move to VA. Needless to say she was adpoted and so were 2 of her kittens (Toeser and Slick). The third kittten was adopted by NY neighbors after weaning.
